Happy Easter from the Mouster Bunny.

Twangy opened the curtains one day,
And didn't really know what to say.
Out in the garden, under a tree
He couldn't believe what he could see.
A big white mouse with floppy ears.
'The Mouster Bunny!' The mice gave cheers.

'He's here! He's here!' and out they raced.
The Mouster Bunny they stood and faced.
'Hello!' He cried. 'Happy Mouster to you!
I've laid a trail for you all to do.
In the garden dotted around,
Lots of eggs will soon be found.
Each one has one name written on.
Find your name - see what you've won'

The mice started searching high and low.
They moved the rake, the spade, the hoe.
Fiddlina yelled, 'Oh I found one!'
Tucked under the shed and out of the sun
An egg with a name on it in red.
She picked it up. 'Sachmo' it said.

The  bunny put his paw in his sack
And pulled out an egg, striped red and black.
Sachmo's eyes were all aglow.
'Stripes!' he said. 'How did you know?'

'Come on everyone! There's more to find.'
Bongo pulled back a hedge - with an egg behind!
He looked at the name.'Fiddlina!' he cried.
The Mouster bunny looked in side
His bag and what do you know.
Pulled out an egg in the shape of a bow.
Fiddlina took it with a sigh.
'Perfect,' she said with a tear in her eye.

The triangle trio were down in the shed,
Being careful not to bang their head.
They moved the lawnmower and what did they see?
'Bongo!' they yelled! 'Oh is that for me?'

The bunny delved with a mouster hum
And pulled out an egg in the shape of a drum.
Bongo took it. 'Oh thank you!' he cried.
And carefully took his egg back inside.

'Come on you mice. Still lots to find!'
Right near the fence some ivy was twined.
Lying at the bottom Keys saw
An egg. 'I wonder who it's for?'
He picked it up. 'I say, that's rich.
It says is for Tupper, Tina and Tich!'

They clapped their paws and closed their eyes,
And when they looked oh what a surprise!
Three eggs all in triangular shape.
They stood and looked with mouths agape.
'They really are the best,' Tich said,
While Sachmo fell in a flowerbed.
'Ouch!' he yelled. 'That really hurt.'
And he pulled out an egg, covered in dirt.
'It's covered in earth. it's hard to see.
Twangy!' he said. The mice clapped with glee.

The next egg was shaped like a big bow tie.
'How wonderful!' said Twangy, and held it high.

'Still two left so don't stop now.'
Twangy looked with furrowed brow.
He checked the bird table. 'Over here!
This one's for Quiffy!' He gave a cheer.

'Oh such fun!' and Quiffy waited
To see what the bunny had created.
'My word!' he said as a chocolate quiff
Appeared from the sack. 'That's awfully stiff!'
'We still have one more egg not found,'
And they walked about looking at the ground.
Quiffy cimbed the apple tree.
But nothing around it could he see.
He looked up and right before his eyes,
An egg, just like an apple in size.
'I found!' he said. 'This one's for Keys!'
'What's he got! Oh show us please!'

Key's egg was a wonderful sight.
Made out of chocolate, black and white.
'Like the keys on my piano,' he gave smile.
He looked at the eggs lying in a pile.
'Thank you Mouster bunny indeed,
How clever to know what we'd all need.'
The Mouster bunny gave a hop.
'Your very welcome.  Now I can't stop.'
And off he went right down the road
With more eggs for Mouster to unload.
'Well,' Fiddilina picked hers up,
'How about we go inside for a cup
of tea and taste our Easter treat.'
And they went inside, their eggs to eat.

Sachmo's Secret Valentine

The mice were excited. Oh what a to do.
'Sachmo! There's a letter for you!'
He looked at the envelope bearing his name.
Trying to work out from who it came.

'Open it Sachmo!' all the mice cried.
And he opened envelope, filled with pride.
'Happy Valentine my Dear Sachmo,
With hugs and kisses. My dearest Beau.'
Sachmo blushed and looked again.
'It's written in a wobbly pen.'
He pulled a green thing from inside.
Slimey, it smelled of an ocean tide.
'Now that's odd? Who'd send seaweed?'

'It is a puzzling card indeed'
'I wonder who it's from,' Keys said
'I've no idea.' Sachmo shook his head.
'There's something else inside,' said Tina.
'A little heart shaped concertina.
'And look there's a message written inside.'
'I hope you like what's to the card tied.'
'There's nothing there!' the mice all shouted
While poor Sachmo sat down and pouted.
'Come on it must have come undone.
Let's go look!' and out they ran.
The mice split up and searched all round.
The grass, the pond, the rock hard ground.
'Oh dearie me. Now I'll never know
Who thinks I am their dearest beau.'
'What's a bow?' Young Tina said.
'I thought it was on Fiddlina's head'
'Oh no young mouse, it's not that sort.
It means Sachmo someone's heart has caught.'

Tina looked at Sachmo and said
'Then someone can't be right in the head.'
Quiffy looked at the card once more
Then checked every where upon the floor.
'I wonder what it was inside.'
'Wait! Everyone look!' Twangy cried.
He ran across towards the hedge
And stuck across the very edge
A stripy scarf with matching hat.
They unwound it all and laid it flat.
Sachmo's eyes were all aglow
'Now that's a wonderful hat for show!'
'But who's it from? It doesn't say.'
Then suddenly Bongo shouted. 'Hey!
'Look here.' Tucked well inside the hedge,
A little card with golden edge.
'To my hero Sachmo. With my love.
Next time I'll send you matching gloves'
And Underneath a letter D.
Now I wonder. Who can that be.
A little tear came in Sachmo's eye
And he stroked the scarf with a little sigh.
'Daisy.' He said. 'It has to be.'
'Of course!' they said. 'Daisy is D!'

The mice went back inside the house.
'Sachmo you are a lucky mouse.
A Valentine card and gift as well.
You must have cast her quite a spell.'
Sachmo smiled. 'I have to say.
It's been a wonderful Valentine's day.'

On a Christmouse night

The mice were rushing. Getting ready.
Tuning instruments, nice and steady.
Wrapping up warm against the cold.
Young mice doing what they're told.
An important night for every mouse,
Singing carols from house to house.
They'd all worked hard  and practiced long
To learn the words to every song.
Tuffy Plonker had come to stay.
He was stopping until New years day,
And Walter was glad he'd come to stop.
Straight in his xylophone with one big hop.
He was proudly wearing his nice new hat,
That Tina had knitted. He was proud of that.
She'd made a matching scarf for him too.
He was warm as toast. No chance of flu.

Keys was wearing a squashed piano?
'What on earth is that?' Tupper wanted to know.
'It's called an accordion. it's easy to hold.
Just right for playing tunes in the cold.'

'Everyone ready?  Come on let's go.'
Then off they went through the winter snow.
They came to a house and knocked on the door.
'All together on the count of four.'

"Good King Mouselas looked out
On the Feast of Cheesen.
Where the cheese lay round about.
Cheddar, brie and edam."

A mouse family came and stood at the door.
'Hurray.' They asked. 'Can we have one more?'
'Just one,' said the mice. 'We've a lot to do.
Everyone now on the count of two.'
The mice sang out, hearty and strong
Just one more though, they couldn't stop long.
'Merry Christmouse!' they cried to the mice at the door
'And the same to you!'  and they waved a paw.

The mice walked through snow, crisp and clear,
Excited when the next house drew near

'Ready Mice? Sing nice and loud.'
As out of the house came a little crowd.
The mice sang out, strong and hearty
Ready to please the little party.

"Ding Dong mousily on High.
In mouseland mice are singing.
Ding dong Santa Paws is nigh
His presents he is bringing."

'Wonderful!' clapped the mice all around.
'You really made a Christmousey sound.'
They fetched mince pies and cups of punch,
And cake as well for the mice to munch.
'How awfully kind, and Happy Christmouse.'
'We'd better get going to the next house.'

And off they went, Bongo holding a light,
Through the snow on a winter's night.
Walter nice and snug inside.
Enjoying his portable  xylophone ride.
They saw a light shine up ahead.
'There's the next house,' Fiddlina said.
They all tuned up and checked their score.
'Nice and loud mice. Just one more.'

"Silent Mouse, Holy mouse.
Sleeping calm. In the house.
Dreams of cheese and ice cream  and ham,
Sandwiches and cake and jam.
Merry Christmouse is here.
Merry Christmouse is here."

An elderly couple stood at the door
'Bravo!' they clapped. 'More! More!'
The mice tuned up and sang out loud.
They really did feel awfully proud.
'A lovely surprise,' the old lady said.
'And before you go you'll need to be fed.'
She went inside, then came back out,
And  mugs of soup she handed out.

The mice stood and drank in the snow
Walter danced along Fiddlina's bow.
Young Walter though had looked inside.
While the xylophone was a comfie ride,
In the house, what did he see?
A nice big sparkly Christmas tree.

His eyes lit up and out he hopped,
And straight in the Christmas tree he popped.
'Come back here!' poor Tuffy yelled.
Walter liked how the Christmas tree smelled.
He found a hole and went inside.
'Oh Walter no!' the mice all cried.
The lady said 'Oh don't despair.
There's a way to get him out of there.'
She went to the kitchen and soon came back,
And wafted something towards the crack.
'A hot mince pie smells so good,
Much better than the sparkly wood.'
Walter popped his head right out.
'There he is!' Tuffy gave a shout.
The lady dropped the pie in a box.
'A worm's not difficult to out fox.'
Out of the tree and straight inside,
He ate his own mince pie with pride.

'Come on young mice, time for bed.'
'We really enjoyed it,' the old couple said.
The mice walked home, happy and bright,
Enjoying the peace of the calm, Christmas night
They all walked and looked up at the sky,
Wondering if Santa Paws was up high.
They all thought they'd been good this year,
So they hung their stockings with a hearty cheer.
Walter had one stuck on his drum,
He was hoping for goodies to fill up his tum.

They all went to bed, and straight to sleep.
Dreaming of stockings, filled so deep.
The mice wish each and every house
A very happy, jolly Christmouse

Guy Whiskers Night

Twangy was busy cutting wood.
Piling it up as high as he could.
Tupper and Tina were gathering rags,
Tied together with big black bags.
Fiddlina was busy with hot dogs and soup.
Keys was placing rope in a loop.
A historical night for all to remember.
Fireworks night, on 5th Mousevember.
The night Guy Whiskers, historical mouse,
 Tried to explode Parliament House.

Every year the mice celebrate
With fireworks, bonfire and dancing till late.
Tupper and Tina had made a mouse Guy,
To put on the bonfire, which was awfully high.

Tich and Keys had piled up the wood,
To make the fire as high as they could.

Bongo and Quiffy had boxes of rockets

With safety mice matches in all of their pockets,
To load up Monty's new invention
Created with one sole intention.
Monty's Magical Launching Machine:
To make firing rockets  go like a dream.

They loaded the rockets in nice and slow,
Making ready for the  big rocket show.
Sachmo was placing buckets and pails,
Just in case one of them fails.
While Twangy counted sparklers out
Making sure they all had one without a doubt.

Bang on seven the fireworks began,
With a fizzler and rocket according to plan.
They ooh'd and they ahh'd as the rockets went high
And squirled their sparklers as they looked in the sky.
Fiddlina had all the food on a table
And Joined the fun as soon as she was able.

Then oh no! Look out! Oh what a disaster!
The rocket machine going faster and faster.

So fast in fact the it fell on its side
And launched the rockets far and wide.
They flew round the garden  both high and low,
The mice didn't know the best place to go.
One shot in the house, then out the side door,
Another shot out across the floor.

One hit the table and over the fence,

When suddenly Keys seemed to see sense.
'Sachmo, Bongo, pour water on now!'
And they picked up pails with a furrowed brow.
Keys and Bongo threw theirs on the machine,
And put out the rockets with quite a smoke screen.
Poor Sachmo got lost in all of the smoke.
He missed the rockets, so what did he soak?

The hot dogs, potatoes, the burgers  and soup!
Oh what a horrible, soggy old gloop.
'My machine!' said Monty, and ran to  see
What had happened to cause the catastrophe.
'I think after all the matches are best.
That machine of yours needs more of a test.'
The mice set the rockets out in a row,
And used their matches to make them go.
Fiddlina cleared away the soggy food

And made more hotdogs as fast as she could.
They ooh'd and ahh'd the rest of the night,
Watching rockets as they burst while in flight.

Monty was sorry he caused such alarm,
But the mice were just happy they came to no harm.

They sang and they danced late in to the night

And all had a wonderful Guy Whiskers night.

Sunday 8 June 2014

Bongo goes deaf

Fiddlina yelled, 'Everyone it's three!
Come on down. It's time for tea.'
The mice put all their instruments away.
(they practiced them every single day).
There was cake and scones and cream and jam
And sandwiches with cheese and ham.
'Get stuck in,' Fiddlina said.
'Really? I thought it was his head.'
They looked at Bongo. 'What did you say?'
'Oh no,' he said. 'It's not today.'
They looked at Bongo, very confused,
While Bongo laughed, clearly amused.
'My dear chap, are you quite ok?'
'That's right. He found he couldn't play.'
'Bongo! What are you on about?'
'Fiddlina, my dear, no need to shout,'
Said Bongo, 'Whatever's wrong my dear?'
'Oh Bongo. You're acting awfully queer.'
Bongo looked. 'It's not time yet surely?'
'Oh Bongo I think you're really poorly.'
The mice stopped eating, terribly worried
As off to the phone Twangy hurried.
'I'll get the doctor straightaway.'

'That's right. It's new,' he heard Bongo say.
Keys got up. 'Are you quite alright,
You're giving us all an awful fright.'
I hope it's nothing serious,' he said.
'Ha ha. That's right! Right on the head.'
Twangy came back. 'He's on his way,'
'What's that Twangy? It's not today.'
The mice all looked at Bongo's face
Looking for any sign or trace
Of what was causing Bongo's woes,
While Sachmo looked up Bongo's nose.
Bongo looked at all the mice staring.
'I say. Why are you all all glaring?'
'Bongo, my boy, we think you're ill'
'What for?' he said. 'What's up the hill?'
'No,' said Quiffy, 'That's not what he said.'
'That's right, a lovely shade of red.'
'Thank goodness,' said Keys. 'The doctor's here.'
'No, not too far. It's really quite near.'
Twangy ran to let the Doctor in.
'What's that? Something on my skin?'
'I'm Pip Whiskers. You're local MP.'
(That's Mouse Practitioner to you and me.)

'Where's the patient?' 'He's over here.
We think he might have gone deaf, we fear.'
Dr Whiskers shooed the mice out.
'Right let's get you all sorted out.'
He fitted his Mouseoscope to his head.
'Say ahh.' 'It's not far,' Bongo said.

Pip Whiskers stood back. 'Open wide.'
He pulled Bongos mouth and looked inside.
'Head to the left.' He got out a light.
'Aha! I think I see your plight.'
The mice peaked in, afraid to speak
As Pip got something out to tweak
In Bongo's ear and then pulled out
Something red. Sachmo gave a shout,
Fell on the floor and passed right out.

'Oh Sachmo, you really are a ninny,'
Fiddlina fanned him with her pinny.

'Bongo's brains came out his head!'
'That wasn't Bongo's brains,' she said.
'Oh dear you really are confused.
Those are the ear plugs Bongo used.
His bongos make a fearsome row
And he has to protect his ears somehow.
He uses ear plugs to stop the din.
He must have forgotten, and left them in.'
'I say,' Said Bongo 'I hear you all clear.'
The mice all clapped and gave a cheer.
'Oh Dr, join us all for tea.
There's lots to eat as you can see.'
' That would be nice,' Pip Whiskers said,
As Sachmo peered in Bongo's head.

'Come on boys, there's lots to eat.
I'll  get more cake as a special treat.'
The mice ate heartily, terribly glad,
That Bongos hearing was nothing too bad.

Tuesday 4 March 2014

Pancake Mayhem.

The mice were all rushing around.
Eggs and flour were hitting the ground.
On pancake day in Bongo land
They had a pancake contest planned.
Sachmo got his eggs and flour
And whisked it up with such great power
The mix flew out around the place,
Narrowly missing Tina's face.
She scurried off while Sachmo cooked
And came back. What a sight she looked.
In the kitchen in hat and galoshes.

'To protect me from Sachmo's pancake sloshes.
A little less mix I think Sachmo,'
As a dollop landed on her toe.

Fiddlina was working very hard.
She didn't want her pancakes charred.

She mixed her pancakes carefully,
And fried one up so she could see.
'Sachmo!' She yelled, ducking fast
As pancake mix went flying past.

Quiffy Sax was there as well,
Quiff kept up with lots of gel
And tucked outside his tall chef's hat.
'To protect my hair from Sachmo's splat.'
He had three frying pans on the go.
'Oh Quiffy! What an amazing show.'

He held them tight in paws and tail
As Fiddlina watched every small detail.
He tossed them high into the air.
Oh no! One landed on his hair!

'Hello everyone,' and Monty appeared,
Pulling behind him something weird.

The Monty Magic Mixamaker!
The automatic pancake baker.

He turned it on. The mice looked on.
Oh dear. I think it's going wrong...
The pans were tossing up and down
While Monty watched on with a frown.
'Look out Monty!' Keys quickly said
As a pan knocked him sharply on the head.

Sachmo looked and oh too late!
A pancake hit his face right straight.

His hand shot up, his pancake flew.
'What's that noise?'  They heard 'Choo Choo'
As the pancake landed on the floor
Right outside the open front door.
The mice rushed out and oh my word!
That's the noise that they all heard.
A steam roller coming up the drive.
Oh what a time for it to arrive.

Over the pancake it rattled and rolled.
That pancake was awfully big and cold.

'Oh dear. I'm sorry,' the driver said.
'I knew I should have phoned ahead.
I should tell you why I've come.'
He leant in and pulled out a drum.
'I met a mouse with a xylophone.
He wondered if you could give him a home'
And out of the drum popped Walter's head.
'I'm sorry about the pancake.' He said.
'That's ok I have an idea!
Bring that pancake over here.'
And Keys  tied rope around a tree.
'It's big enough for a trampoline. See.'
The twins got on and bounced up high.
'Look,' they yelled. 'We can fly.'

Monty came out looking slightly dazed
And looked around - a little amazed.
'Right said Fiddlina. Time for tea.
Come on Tina. Follow me.'
She made pancakes for everyone
Which they ate while having mousey fun.
The twins fed Walter in his drum
While Twangy started to sing and strum.

Soon the mice were dancing around,
bouncing on pancakes, and pancakes were downed.

Fiddlina won the pancake prize

Which all the mice thought very wise.
